Body Type Series, Part 2: ICE CREAM CONE

This body type is often called the "Inverted Triangle" - but I prefer to think of these gals as yummy, luscious ice cream cone on a hot summer's day! Probably the most famous example of this type is:

So-are YOU an ice cream cone? You are if your bust measures THREE inches more than your hip AND waist measurements, you lucky thing!

OK, so not everyone would attempt the looks Miss Dolly puts together on even the most subdued occasion. So, here is a list of some Ice Cream Cone DOs and PLEASE DON'Ts:

Ice Cream Cone DOs

-DO Pair darker tops with lighter bottoms. Remember, in fashion as in life, it's all about balance, ladies!

-DO opt for tops that are not too complicated or embellished-unless you ARE Dolly Parton! Too much cha-cha on top focuses everyone's attention on just your top. Let's keep the eyes moving, people...

-DO Choose V-necks. A delectable ice cream cone can look matronly and dowdy when her neck is "shortened" by a higher neckline. A nice V breaks things up, creating symmetry and balance (there's that word again!).

Ice Cream Cone PLEASE DON'Ts

-Puffy sleeves. Do you really need more volume on top? Really? Please DON'T.

-Baggy Bulky tops. Again, this is pretty much a Universal DON'T. But in your case especially: Bulky tops make your "Lady Lumps" look, well, lumpy.

-Big Collars and Lapels (sorry Dolly!). Again, these throw everything off balance. No sailor tops for you, Miss Cone! But if you do want to rock a nautical look? A navy top and some ivory sailor-style trousers will give you a figure to launch a thousand ships :)
